Richmond

A Shoppers Haven

Bridge Road in RichmondRichmond, located only 5kms from the Melbourne's City Centre is an extremely diverse suburb. A diverse multicultural precinct with strong influences of Greek and Vietnamese communities harmoniously existing side by side.

Named after Richmond Hill in London, and also like its London counterpart 'Kew' which is situated close by. Its western boundary being Punt Road adjoins Melbourne city and its eastern boundary the Yarra River that is across from the leafy suburb of Hawthorn. The river curves around to form Richmond's southern boundary, opposite South Yarra and Toorak. The northern boundary, Victoria Parade, adjoins Collingwood. Funny enough, Richmond has a prominent hill on its western boundary, known as Richmond Hill but also as Dockers Hill.

Richmond is also the Mecca for bargain retail shopping. Find all the big name Australian Brands of clothing, jewellery and shoes down along Bridge Road and Swan Street.

Situated down Bridge, Church & Swan Street is where you'll find the strong Greek influences and heritages along with the majority of fashion direct outlets. Whilst shopping, grab a bite to eat like a traditional Souvlaki and coffee from one of the many cafes scattered between the Retail Outlets.

Victoria Street in RichmondVictoria Street, known also as 'Little Saigon' is a vibrant and bustling street, providing unique aromas, exotic fruits and vegetables all on display outside shop vendors.

If you're feeling hungry, stop in one of the many wonderful restaurants where the food choices are endless and are all very reasonably priced, not to mention the numerous pubs that line Swan St, Church, Burnley St and the many back streets. Shoppers will find it well worth putting in a little more 'overtime'.
